Cheryl Jane Leslie, age 58, formerly of Detroit, Mi, passed away unexpectedly on October 4, 2018 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. Cheryl was born December 19, 1959 to the late Thomas and Harriett (Caraher) Leslie in Detroit. She graduated from Redford High School in Detroit in 1977, and in 2011 graduated from Indiana University - Purdue University with a bachelor’s in literature. She was actively involved in AA and was very proud of her over twenty-year sobriety. She was a warrior fighting Multiple Sclerosis, and it didn't stop her from living her life to the fullest. Along for her love of literature and writing poetry, Cheryl was an avid concert goer and enjoyed music. Even well into her life, she wouldn’t turn down an opportunity to hop on a roller coaster. She called many places home, and besides her home state, lived for a time in Illinois, Indiana and Arizona, before moving to the Columbus area to be close with her family, especially her grandkids.
She is survived by her children, Andrew Leslie, Stephanie Boatright, Ian (Audrianna) Boatright, Neil Boatright, Holly Boatright; grandchildren, Raelin Boatright, Silas Harris; sisters, Patricia Ignasiak, Jeanette Leslie; brother, Robert Leslie; and many nieces & nephews.
As a mother, a sister, a friend, and a grandmother, Cheryl’s warm heart, never-faltering wit, and one of a kind personality will never be forgotten.
