Evelyn Mae Darr, age 82, of Reynoldsburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends on June 8, 2019 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. Evelyn was born December 21, 1936 to the late Harry and Hazel (Anderson) Whitten in Columbus. She is retired after 20 plus years as a secretary for the Reynoldsburg Church of Christ. Evelyn was an avid OSU Buckeye fan and the Best darn Band in the Land fan. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, spending time with family and friends, and loved watching for her hummingbirds. Evelyn will be remembered as hardworking, selfless, devoted to her faith and family, and always willing to help and serve others. She is survived by her children, Burl (Laura) Whaley, Debra (Rick) Hayes, Lance (Sarah) Darr; grandchildren, Jason (Jamie) Hayes, Robin Hayes, Blake, Logan, Olivia, and Emma Darr, Stacey (Mike) Tingler, Tami Whaley; step grandchildren, Tiffany Tinapple, Kaitlynn Holbert, Brittany Pruden; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, John (Sharon) Whitten; sisters-in-law, Shirley Polzer, Agnes Whitten; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Wesley Whitten; and sister, Mary Russ. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Reynoldsburg Church of Christ, where her service will immediately follow with Minister Dion Frasier of Reynoldsburg Church of Christ and Minister Jeff Garrett officiating.
