Jolie Ellen Gordon, age 61, of Reynoldsburg, passed away at her home on October 10, 2018, after a 2 1/2 year courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Jolie was born February 2, 1957 to the late Donald and Gloria (Mosser) Heilig in Harrisburg, PA. Jolie was a long-time member of Brice United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and played the piano. She will be remembered for being a passionate and inspiring teacher for 35 years, from which she retired in 2015. Jolie's fondest years were the last 22 teaching at Northridge Local Schools in Licking County, the majority of which were spent teaching the 1st grade. Jolie was recognized twice by students as being the most inspirational and influential teacher during their school career. She was blessed by the continual support of many friends, including former teaching staff, students, and parents during her illness. She is survived by her beloved husband of 29 years, Herb Gordon; sister-in-law, Cindy Sharrer; brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Keni) Gordon, Bob (Tonya) Gordon; cousins, Nancy Stricker, Billy and Stacey Heilig; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Linda Gardner of Dauphin, PA. A visitation will be held on WEDNESDAY, October 17, 2018, from 5 - 8PM at the PFEIFER FUNERAL HOME, Reynoldsburg. Her funeral service will follow on Thursday, 11AM, at the Brice United Methodist Church, 3160 Brice Rd, Brice with Pastor David Wells, Pastor Vaughn Cook and Pastor Phyllis Plear officiating. Burial in Glen Rest Memorial Estate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jolie's name to Brice United Methodist Church, 3160 Brice Road, Brice, Ohio, to the Jolie E.
