Kinte Aaron Jones, age 44, of Columbus, passed away in death on January 24, 2019. Kinte was born October 18, 1974, to Rodney and Valerie (Landrum) Jones in Columbus. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on September 19, 1992 and was a member of Eastgate congregation. Kinte was employed at Abbott Laboratories for 21 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Jennifer E. Jones; parents, Rodney & Valerie; brother, Kyle Jones; in-laws, Steve (Elaine) Marbury Sr.; brother-in-law, Steve Marbury Jr.; sisters-in-law, LaKescha Marbury, Heleshia Marbury; nieces & nephews, Yeshia, Annyston, Stevie, Hendryx; aunts & uncles, Bradford (Jacqquie) Jones, Karla (Ron) Chapman, Eric Jones, Yvonne Landrum McKinney, Darryl (Linda) Landrum, Denise Landrum Jones, Lamont (Moneika) Landrum; long-time childhood friends, David Harmon, Kevin Edwards; and a host of relatives and friends. Kinte is preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, Leroy (Josephine) Jones and George (Lillian) Landrum. From his youth Kinte was a kind caring person, able to put the needs of others ahead of his own. He displayed this in helping and caring for all members of his family, he always went above and beyond. As a faithful long time servant of Jehovah, he enjoyed helping people learn about him. He also displayed extraordinary kindness to the members of the congregation especially the elderly. One of the most enjoyable things for him was spending time with his nieces and nephews. All of them would bring out that big ear to ear smile he had. He was known by all to be selfless. He had a high standard for himself. Although, he was stubborn at times he was a determined learner and enjoyed being able to figure out and fix things. He was passionate about basketball and he enjoyed going to NBA games. Kinte displayed a humble, hard-working spirit that included always being willing to clean the Kingdom Hall, Assembly Hall or whatever was needed. This too was something he learned at an early age. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 02, 2019, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the PFEIFER FUNERAL HOME, Reynoldsburg, where his Celebration of Life Service will follow at 10:30 AM, with Brother Jeff Prude, Jr. officiating.
