Arlon James "Jim" Donley, 71, of Columbus, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 in his residence with his loving family by his side. Jim was born on October 15, 1950 in Louisa, KY to the late Floyd and Polly Billups Donley.
Jim was a 1969 graduate of Logan High School in Logan, Ohio as well as a 1973 graduate of the Scripps College of Journalism at Ohio University in Athens.
He enjoyed trips to "Big Sky", his place in the country, building it up for family to enjoy. He loved going to the flea market and talking with friends online.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Martha (Murphy) Donley; son, Sean; daughter, Erin Painter; sisters, Stella Senig and Ella Nixon; grandchildren, Kyle, Jr., and Cheyenne Painter; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Susan Murphy; sister-in-law, Ginny Donley. Jim also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In his addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a brother, Charles; daughter, Lara Caitlin Donley Kelly; brother-in-law, Ed Senig.
Per Jim's request, cremation was chosen and no services are currently planned. His cremated remains will be laid to rest at a later date.
