George L. Adkins, age 82, of Pataskala, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 16, 2022 surrounded by his family. George was born August 8, 1939 to the late Earl and Effie (Meade) Adkins in Louisa, KY. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. He worked as a Union electrician for 40 years serving Local IBEW 683 in Columbus Ohio. George was also an avid bowler started in 1962, and even served as President of the Columbus Bowling Association from 1998-2000.
He was a beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and cousin. George loved the Lord, his family and church. God changed his life in February 1972 and he loved sharing the gospel to everyone. George was well known for his heartfelt and moving testimonies.
George was also a huge fan of The Ohio State University college football team, he never missed a game and proudly showed off his OSU room, complete with Block O carpet to anyone who stopped by for a visit.
George is survived by his loving children;
Donald Parker, Danny (Kathy) Parker, Diana (Spike) Whalen, Steve Parker, Christa (Bruce) Swickard; grandchildren, Amy(Kevin), Steve(Tabby), Stacee, Ashley, Payton, Broden; and great-grandchildren Heaven, Michaela, Jamie, Lucas, Danny III, Madison, James, Makensie, Caydence, Jude, and Freya. He was also blessed with special cousins George Triplett and Doug Adkins and special friend Fenesia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Adkins; daughter, Cathy (Rick) Spaulding; grandsons, Ricky Spaulding II, Danny(Kristy) Parker Jr, sister, Betty Jean.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Pfeifer Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow on Friday, July 22, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Pfeifer Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Vanover officiating. Special singing will be performed by The Lemleys.
