Joan Evon (McCarty) Hanson

Joan Evon Hanson, age, 69, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday March 18 at her home. Joan was born on May 14, 1953 to the late Robert McCarty and Lillian Ardella McCarty.

Joan was born and raised in Columbus and graduated from West High School and Capital University, where she was a cheerleader and member of Zeta Pi Lambda sorority. Joan also completed a Masters Degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix.

Joan married Robert Hanson in 1975 and raised their family in Reynoldsburg. Joan is survived by her husband Bob, 2 sons Jeffrey (Ali) and Mark (Angie), and 4 grandchildren, Max (11), Scarlett (11), Wesley (9), and Jack (8) who lovingly referred to her as Mom Mom.

Joan's career included Abitec, NetJets, and Battelle. She was heavily involved with the P.T.A. and she loved going to concerts, including the iHeart concert in Vegas, Santana, and Elton John.

Since retiring, Joan and Bob had several memorable trips including San Antonio, Boston, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Napa Valley, Florida, Cancun, Punta Cana, and Arizona. As you can imagine, her favorite quote was "Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer".

Visiting hours will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on WEDNESDAY, March 22, 2023 at Pfeifer Funeral Home located at 7915 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am, Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43213 with Pastor John Ennis officiating. The family asks everyone who plans to attend the graveside meet at Pfeifer Funeral Home at 10:30 am on Thursday.
