Mary Ann Messaros, age 46, of Columbus, formerly of Gahanna, passed away unexpectedly at home after an extended illness on August 24, 2021. Mary Ann was born in Oxford, Ohio on August 20,1975, to Robert and Christine (Urban) Messaros, Jr. Mary Ann will be remembered for her out-going, quick-witted personality, and vivacious zest for life; passionate when it came to cooking, baking, being Hungarian, pets and her family. For those of you who had the pleasure of knowing "Mary", will remember her infectiously loud laugh, boisterous energy, and expertise in conversation. Her early adventures in high school in Chicago led to dance-pom team competitions on the state/national level; combining that with academic excellence, being chosen for National Honor Society at Gahanna-Lincoln HS, led to a scholarship at the Ohio State University where she was a member of the Dance Team. Through dance, Mary developed a passion for martial arts, affording her the opportunity to travel and compete in China. Mary had countless passions. She was chef and baker, having proudly been a staple in several Columbus restaurants. Her love of reading and science led to her pursuit of a degree in anthropology; one of many topics she would eagerly debate. Mary's fierce devotion to her career and her family was apparent in everything she did. Mary shined with a brightness and boldness that will never be forgotten and forever be missed. No words can express this loss - cherish those around you, hug them and tell them you love them. Mary is survived by her loving parents, Robert and Christine; brother, Matt (Sarah) Messaros; sisters, Amy Messaros, Sarah Messaros, Rachel (Brian) Lee, Hannah Messaros; nieces, Samantha, Jocelyn, Elsa, Dawsyn; nephews, Cortlin, Laszlo, Silas; grandmother, Mary Ann Messaros; aunts, Nancy (Erick) Horn, Connie Bosky; uncles; Mike (Sheri) Messaros, Andy (Susan) Meszaros, Steven (Brenda) Urban, Scott (Alexandra) Urban; cousins, Maria, Dominic, Noah, Maggie, Andrew, Joey, Andrew, Tommy. A Private Family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1051 Waggoner Road, on TUESDAY, August 31, 2021, at 11:30AM, with Fr. David Young officiating.
